5 Resume Formatting Mistakes & Quote of the day
Good Morning
Last night I went to a bbq, yes we must find time to have some fun with our family and friends or our stress levels would sky rocket. I told myself I was also going to use this as a net-working tool since I was about to meet people I had never meet before. It went great, while I did not get any job leads right off the bat the people I talked to where more than happy to keep an eye out if they heard of anything come up.. I highly recommend net-working so many people get positions by knowing someone that already works for the company..If you don't like meeting new people, you need to overcome your fears and get out and do it! Trust me once you start it is a breeze..
Tip of the Day: 5 Resume Formatting Mistakes
If you are searching for a job right now, you will want to read this article and then take a look at your resume to see if you need to revamp it. I keep seeing and hearing these same 5 items everywherehttp://blogs.bnet.com/intercom/?p=2401 . Below are a few more tips I have picked up on.
1. make sure you have friends, family look over your resume and if you have an HR hiring manager in your network have them give you there thoughts as well..
2. You only have 5 short seconds to sell yourself so right now it is very important to have a great looking resume
3. Tailor each resume specifically to the job you are applying to, do not send out a generic resume
4. Use Twitter and Facebook to network

August Unemployment Rate
For those of us who are still looking for a job after being laid off, or are trying to re-enter the job force after staying at home with our children it is getting harder to get a good full time job. The sectors that are hiring in September include Retail, Education, and Health-Care..so if you are looking for a job in one of those fields it will be easier for you. These numbers are making me realize that it is even more important to start my own business and to rely on myself for my financial future..at least for the time being. Today is a busy day for me, Friday's are my house cleaning, and laundry day..My son's weekly shot day,and then I will be applying for more jobs, and trying to get my business ideas down on paper. Look for the insperational quote of the day later today..

Encouragment for the Day "Don't Quit:
~Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver lint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
That you must not quit.

8 weeks of unemployment
Ok so today is offically 8 weeks of being unemployed. Every day brings new challanges. I thought I did everything right..Received my Bachlors degree, then continued on to receive my MBA in business..but yet I am still in this position like many other people. Now I hear on the news that people are lying on their resumes about having degrees to just try and get a job.. It has been harder being without work, then it was when I was working for a number of reasons:
1. I now have my 4 year old at home with me, which he loves mommy time..but trying to teach him pre-k so he does not get behind, blog, apply for at least 20 jobs a day, keep the house clean, cook dinner, work on fixing up the house so we can sell it if we need to move..etc..gets very overwhelming.
2. Bills keep adding up...yes even with unemployment it's just not enough some months, this month especially with car tags due..
My goal is to open my own business, but it seems with all the added stresses, I am having problems finding my passions..I know after going through this I would love to find away to help people who some months just can't make ends meet, while earning a living..I have an idea I am going to try and run with it's just trying to find the time to do it..Anymore it just does not seem like I have enough hours in a day..
